About
About Vincent Golshani, painter, author, world traveler
Vincent Golshani is a world‑renowned abstract impressionist artist who has painted since he was five. He has lived in twenty‑six countries, opened galleries around the world, and since 2006 has shown his work in his own gallery in Savannah, Georgia.

His age when he started painting
A library, and a mother who said yes
Vincent grew up in a home full of paintings and artifacts his parents collected on their travels. His mother encouraged him and gave him the materials to learn, and taught him to sign each painting in the bottom left corner. He still does.
“As a child, I would sit in my Father’s library and look through the beautiful books that he had. I wanted so badly to be able to create something of such beauty.”Vincent Golshani, 2007
London, Hyde Park and Ibiza
From Hyde Park to Dalí
He went to London for college. Money was tight, so on weekends he carried his canvases to Hyde Park to sell them.
“You could say that this moment was the start of my career as a painter. I was not always successful but I was rarely disappointed.”Vincent Golshani, 2007
In the summer of 1980 he took a job in Ibiza, at a club whose owner let him hang his paintings on the walls. One night, as Vincent tells it, the owner introduced him to his hero, Salvador Dalí, who looked at a painting and called it “Una visión extraordinaria.” A vision of extraordinary: the phrase became the title of his first book.
“Painting calms me. It makes me stronger.”

Countries he has called home
A gallery in every port of call
For twenty years he moved with the wind: Fiji, Bali, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Thailand and the Seychelles, with painting trips across Europe, Australia and Alaska. In Milan in 1999, at a charity auction, Luciano Pavarotti stopped at one of his paintings on his way to the stage. Everywhere he went, he opened a gallery.
“They were my home away from home, they were my identity, and they were my purpose.”Vincent Golshani, on his galleries, 2007
Savannah, 2006
Goldon House Gallery
On August 4, 2006, in a downpour, he opened Goldon House Gallery. Today it fills a historic building at 220 West Bay Street, overlooking River Street and the Savannah River, with his paintings, antiques from around the world, and thousands of thank‑you notes from collectors. He named it for Goldon, Persian for a single flower in a pot. His own name, Golshani, means “land of many flowers.”

Color
Brighter, bolder, happier
Years ago Vincent painted palms in yellow and black. After he married in 2008 and became a father, he says, the colors changed. Blue runs through almost every canvas he paints now.
“I always try to put a little blue into all my paintings. I think blue is a sign of life.”Vincent Golshani, 2015
“Nothing in my life is black and white anymore, it is all so colorful.”Vincent Golshani, 2019
